I'm very behind on blogging everything. I've made several attempts to put it in my schedule, but when life gets busy this isn't my priority. That definitely needs to change.
We're about to have a major change happen in our family. Isaac accepted a job in Paris, TX at an engineering firm. We are moving about 1,500 miles away, and it's a little intimidating. I've had a roller coaster of emotions. Last fall, I was so ready to get out of here and have an adventure. Even the beginning of the year, I was ready and excited. As soon as it got real, I've been so nervous and scared. It's such a huge change, especially since I've never lived outside of Idaho.
We've been applying to all the jobs that could be potential. There were a few states we didn't apply, but had applied in at least 35-40 states. The application count totaled around 140. February 25th, Isaac sent his resume to them. They emailed back after a couple of days, and there were a few back and forth emails. March 9th, they emailed to schedule a phone interview. March 15th, they emailed and invited both Isaac and I out for an interview in Paris. The timeline couldn't have lined up better, because the next week was spring break. We flew out March 20th, and were there for about 1.5 days. Isaac received an offer on March 30th, and we accepted the offer on April 3rd. In the span of just over a month, our lives changed.
A few days before the first email, I had told Isaac about a dream I'd had. Which, I never remember dreams. I told him I had a dream we moved to Texas, and how I was pretty sure that we were going to be moving to Texas. This was when nothing seemed to be panning out, before he'd even applied to that job. I've felt good about it from day 1. The more real it gets, the more nervous I get though. I think mostly just because it is different than anything I've ever done. Once he had the phone interview, Isaac seemed to feel really good about the possibility as well. On the flight from Denver to Dallas, right as we were flying over Dallas, about to land, I got the chills. I all of a sudden got really emotional and I think that's when it hit me. I felt the spirit so strongly that we would be moving there. Isaac and I have had a lot of conversations since our trip, about how Heavenly Father is so very aware of us and our needs. We feel very at peace with our decision, and know that everything will work out for the betterment of us.

Life changes ahead!
I am terrible at blogging. But, hey, it's on my to do list! Ever since having Eliza, I'm terrible at completing my to do lists. At least I am still making them though! I still also manage to get most things accomplished in a timely fashion also. I must not be doing too bad, most days.
Life sure is funny. It seems that it is moving a million times faster than ever before, yet the days seem to drag sometimes. I guess that's the life of a mother. I've been wanting to start blogging again about thoughts and feelings and just about our adventures in life. Kinda like I used to, before I had my sweet faced child. So here I sit, almost 1am, starting a blog post.
Isaac graduates in May in Civil Engineering. He is working his tail off right now, and is always so busy. He was working up until about a month ago, when we decided it would be best for him to just focus on school. Now here we are, mostly unemployed, for the first time in our married life. As long as I have known Isaac, he's had a job. It's kind of strange to think about, but I think he has enjoyed a little bit of a break before real life starts. Also, it's a good thing he isn't still working, because I'm not sure when he would fit in any hours! It's his second to last semester, so classes are keeping him busy. Mostly his senior design class. And then there is the Civil Engineering club on campus. He's the president of that, and there are always so many things for him to do for it. Fit in homework, hours of research for his group senior project, and time spent with his two girls and he's a busy guy. He's doing awesome in all of his classes though. He really does love what he's learning, and never gives up on it!
In January, he will take his Fundamentals of Engineering Exam. Which is a 6 hour test to become an Engineer in Training. EiT's have to work under a licensed Engineer or a Professional Engineer for 4 years, after which they can take the PE Exam (another 6 hours) and become a Professional Engineer. Which means they get their own stamp, and can be in charge (basically). This whole process isn't mandatory, or even part of his schooling, but some companies prefer it for jobs!
Jobs. The scary/exciting future. Isaac has applied at just over 50 companies so far. They are all over the country. From Seattle to Maine. There aren't many opportunities in the West since he doesn't have any experience yet. He has had several denials, and one interview so far. We are very excited for our next adventure, to see where life is going to take us. I'm a little bit nervous, mostly because we could be ANYWHERE a year from now. Seattle, New York, in the South, Texas, the Midwest, or on the East Coast. We have some big changes coming soon, and hopefully I'm prepared!
I'm so proud of Isaac and everything he has accomplished so far. He's so smart and such a wonderful husband and father to Eliza and I. I can't imagine what life would be like if we didn't end up together. A different set of challenges and blessings I'm sure. I'm glad I get to take on these life changes with such a hardworking partner in crime.

Eliza month 5 (April 6- May 5)
Eliza started formula this month. I was hoping to breastfeed her for the entire first year, however life happened! I definitely miss breastfeeding her sometimes, and other times it is so nice to not have to. Isaac can feed her, and it helps with being on time to things. After a couple of weeks of formula, she was able to down 4 ounces in about 10 minutes. She learned how to eat way fast!
She started scooting with her bum and arching her back to start moving a little bit.
She switched to 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers.

Eliza month 4 (March 6- April 5)
The 4 month sleep regression is a real thing, and it definitely effected Eliza. She would occasionally wake up in the middle of the night, and not want to go back to sleep. She also had a little bit of a harder time staying asleep.
We celebrated Eliza's first Easter, and she got her first dolly and swimming suit from the Easter bunny. As well as a Wheels on the Bus book from Grandma Stewart.
At Eliza's 4 month well-check visit she saw her new pediatrician for the first time. We automatically clicked, and wished we would've had him from the beginning. He informed us that her growth chart looked great previously, and there wasn't anything to worry about, she is just a small girl. However, her weight that day, 9lbs 5 oz (only 6 ounces up from the previous month), was more sideways on the chart than it should be. I had been wondering if she was getting enough milk, and had debated several different times within the last few weeks if we should switch to formula. He left the decision up to us, but gave us some great advice. We decided to switch to formula effective immediately. The first few bottles, it was as if she had been starving for a little bit. She had been getting some, just not quite enough.
Also at her well-check she received another set of shots, which she took like a champ of course. I'm thinking that she might have a high pain tolerance, because she doesn't seem bothered, except for the fact that she is getting held down, and that she has to lay down.

Eliza month 3 (Feb 6-March 5)
Eliza was blessed on February 7th. She started sleeping in her crib in her room Feb 8th, and did great from the beginning. She quickly started to hate the swaddle the middle of Feb, once she learned that she had so much room to move around. She started sleeping in the zippadee zip Feb 17th, and it was wonderful. She started learning how to grab things this month, although still wasn't very good at it. She started realizing who mom and dad are, and when we would come and go. She learned that after her first feeding every morning, was usually about the same time dad would get home from work, and she would watch the door waiting for him to come through it. She is a champion sleeper this month.
