2015 Recap

January-
~We went on vacation with Mariah's family. A Caribbean cruise that left from New Orleans.
~Spring semester started up the day we got back.
~Mariah took all online classes with her new General Education major, while working 30 hours per week.
~Isaac was chugging along with his Civil Engineering degree.
~Mariah moved to the front desk position at work.

February-
~We celebrated our first legit Valentine's Day as a married couple (last year 2014 Mariah had her last wisdom tooth out).
~Towards the end of February we both decided we were ready to start trying to have a baby.
~We attended the Idaho Falls temple for the last time for awhile, because it closed for renovation.

March-
~One of our best friends Breanna came home from her mission to Louisville Kentucky this month, and we attended her homecoming.
~We were both convinced that Mariah was pregnant this month, but were sadly disappointed when it just turned out to be an ovarian cyst. This lead to a semi-hard few weeks.
~We signed up for Life Insurance this month.
~We looked at our new house in Mid March, and paid the security deposit and signed the lease towards the end of the month.
~We attended Mariah's work party at Outer Limits, where we played laser tag and mini golf. It was a lot of fun!
~We went out to eat at Big Judd's the night before our camping trip with most of Isaac's family.
~We went on our first camping trip at Twin Bridges together this month during spring break.
~We attended Maycee Kerr's baby blessing the end of this month.

April-
~We got keys for our new home on April 1st.
~We went to Isaac's mission reunion the first weekend this month, and had a great time catching up with people he hadn't seen in awhile.
~We watched General Conference and absolutely loved the talks.
~We also moved the essentials into our new home the same weekend.
~Isaac's dad and brother in law, Hans, came down and helped us finish moving on the 11th.
~We also went to red lobster that night with Mariah's family.
~We found out that Mariah was pregnant on April 15. Even though we were "not preventing" we were still totally surprised. I felt great for the most part, except for nights when I usually felt minimally sick and so very exhausted.
~Mariah started working full time again on April 20.
~Mariah had her first doctor's appointment on April 23, which consisted of some blood work, and seeing how far along the baby was. The nurse tried the heart doppler, if we could hear the heartbeat then it was 10 weeks, if not only 6 weeks. We couldn't, so only 6 weeks at that time.
~We went to our last couple of Sundays in our old ward, and also our last cub scouting events.

May-
~May started with a boom of Mariah being a lot more sick, although less tired.
~We finished up our semester the first few days, and took finals.
~Isaac had a little bit of a break after finals, which was nice for him to get a little bit caught up on his sleep.
~We went home for Mother's Day weekend to spend time with our families.
~We told both of our families that we were expecting a sweet baby in December on Mother's Day,  which also happened to be our 2 year Anniversary. Everyone was so excited, and we got some wonderful reactions.
~We went down to Utah for Memorial Day weekend and stayed with our friends the Bradley's. We went to the Payson Utah temple open house, and spent all of Monday going to baby stores and checking out prices and different products (Idaho has the worst selection of baby stuff).
~Mariah got stranded on the freeway for a little bit after the car overheated, while she waited for a tow truck.
~Mariah taught her first Relief Society lesson on May 31st. She was very nervous.

June-
~We had another doctor appointment on the 2nd. We got to hear the babies heartbeat for the first time, and the doctor estimated about 12 weeks. Mariah had to have her blood taken again, to test her thyroid levels. The nurse called the next day and said her levels were still low so they sent over a prescription of medication.
~After starting to take the Thyroid medication, Mariah started to have a lot more energy than she'd had in a long time.
~We announced the pregnancy the first week in June, at 12.5 weeks.
~Titus came home from deployment, and so the first weekend in June we went to Idaho Falls to see him.
~We went to the Manti pageant on June 20 with Mariah's parents.
~Isaac's summer class ended on June 25, and he was so glad to be done!

July-
~We started out July with Isaac starting work at Mariah's parents shop. He commuted everyday to work while living in Pocatello.
~July 4th was spent with family. Barbecue, Chukars game, and fireworks.
~We had a doctor appointment on July 8th.
~We felt the baby move for the first time on July 10th(M) and July 11th(I).
~We received our new callings this month. Isaac as the Sunday School 1st Counselor, and both of us teaching Sunday School (12-13 year olds).
~Isaac's 5 year class reunion was on July 24th, it was fun to see some faces we haven't seen in awhile.
~Mariah chopped all of her hair off again in July.
~We both spoke in our new ward on July 26th. It was nice to be done with that!
~We got to see our baby at the ultrasound on July 28th. We were both glad we didn't find out the gender yet!

August-
~Mariah's sister Lindsey went through the Logan temple for her endowments on August 1. It was a wonderful experience.
~We had another doctor appointment on the 4th. It's always reassuring to hear that everything is going well!
~August 7th-10th we spent in McCall Idaho with Isaac's parents and most siblings.
~Isaac was finally done working 2 jobs on the 14th.
~The 19th while we were in Idaho Falls, we went to dinner with Mariah's sister Lindsey and her boyfriend Jared. This was the first time we'd met him.
~School started back up on the 24th, Isaac taking 16 credits and Mariah with 15.
~Mariah also gave her two week notice at work on the 24th.
~The 31st brought another doctors appointment. We got to hear baby's heartbeat again, which of course the nurse had to keep trying because of our wiggle worm! Only 15 weeks to go!

September-
~Mariah started out the month with a sinus infection, which is seeming to be a regular thing at least once every fall.
~Mariah's last day of work was the 4th. Definitely mixed emotions.
~Isaac ran in the Pocatello Marathon on the 5th, and finished just under his goal time with a final time of 3:29:23.
~We also went to the last Chukar's game of the season with the Wood family. It was less than 50 degrees, so we were wrapped up in blankets!
~For Labor Day on the 7th, we went to the fair with the Stewart family. We were both exhausted after walking around for 5 hours. Mariah being 26 weeks pregnant, and Isaac having ran a marathon two days prior.
~Mariah took the glucose test on September 23, at 28 weeks. It was definitely not a big deal, like everyone seems to think.
~Isaac ran another marathon on the 26th, the Huntsville Marathon. It was definitely the hardest one he has run so far, with way too hot of temperatures.

October-
~We went to Idaho Falls for conference weekend, to spend time with family. We were able to make a lot of freezer meals with Isaac's siblings on Saturday the 3rd.
~Mariah went to Witchpalooza at Gardener's Village with her mom, sister, and a few extended family members on the 10th.
~We both had dentist appointments on the 14th, and found out that Isaac had two cracked fillings. He hadn't noticed them a ton before, but they got increasingly more painful until they got fixed!
~Isaac had a job interview on October 21, for a promotion at FedEx to an assistant manager type position. He ended up getting the job, and we felt very blessed and happy about it.
~Towards the end of the month, we took a sequence of preparing for baby/birth classes and a hospital tour. We both felt a lot more ready after attending all of those, especially the hospital tour.
~The baby shower was October 24, and we were lucky enough to have so many supportive family and friends bring gifts over to help us prepare for the baby.
~The last weekend in October, we went to Utah to finish up some baby shopping. We stayed with our friends the Bradleys. We were able to get the baby's carseat and many other important things.

November-
~We were lucky enough to do a temple session at the Rexburg temple on the 7th of November. We had to wait over an hour, but it was worth it. It was the last planned temple trip until after baby.
~We registered for classes at midnight on the 8th. Mariah registered for her very last college semester, which seemed so surreal.
~Mariah's first contractions were felt on November 10th. Braxton hicks contractions had been going on for a couple weeks prior.
~The weekend of the 13th-14th, Mariah went to Utah with her mom and sister for a girls weekend, and to do some Christmas shopping. It was a nice, last trip before baby came!
~Towards the middle of the month, we started to finalize all the things for baby around the house and really started to make sure that everything was completed for baby.
~I started feeling a lot of contractions while we were out shopping on Nov 20. We were thinking baby would be coming very soon!
~At our 37 week checkup for baby on November 24th, we found out the contractions I had been having for days were making things progress. I was dilated at a 1-2.
~After our appointment, we went out to a movie, The Martian, and although I had contractions the entire time, we loved our last movie date night for awhile.
~Isaac's 23rd birthday was on the 25th, and he spent a majority of the day taking care of me because I was feeling lousy. We did go out to eat for his birthday at a restaurant called The Bridge. It was the most expensive meal we've had as a date night for just the two of us. We loved our last date night before baby came.
~For Thanksgiving, since it was so close to my due date, and since I'd been having contractions, we had decided to stay in Pocatello for Thanksgiving. Mariah's parents came down and made food/ate with us.
~At our 38 week appointment, I was dilated to a strong 2, and 50% effaced.
~The first week of December, we were both so busy trying to get a bunch of school stuff done before the end of the semester. It was a very stressful, busy week with so many due dates.
~My labor contractions started on the night of December 4th, although I figured it was nothing, since it had been nothing every time before.
~We finally went into the hospital on the afternoon of the 5th, and our sweet Eliza girl was born that night.
~We came home from the hospital on the 7th. Mariah's mom stayed with us for the week, and that was an awesome blessing. That week was dead week at school, and Isaac was busy busy with work.
~Finals week was the following week, and it was very busy and stressful with a week old baby. We survived, and both ended up getting the grades that we needed.
~We went to Idaho Falls for Christmas, and it was wonderful that we were able to go for more than just one day.
~We received a lot of wonderful Christmas presents, but we mostly loved how relaxing our Christmas was and how much we got to see family.
~We ended our year visiting with the Titus family. They are basically a second family to us, and it was wonderful to see them.

2015 was an extremely busy, wonderful year. We had our lives change entirely when we became parents, and we wouldn't have it any other way. This time last year, we never would have guessed where we are today. We are so very excited to see what 2016 has to offer and what is ahead of us!

Home

So as it turns out, I am the best blogger. Not. Apparently there is nothing too great or crazy in life that is worth documenting. It sure has been an interesting semester for both Isaac and I. We've both grown a lot as people, with many adjustments and changes that have happened.

We have moved again. This is our 3rd house in the nearly 2 years we've been married. We usually move right around our anniversary, and live in each place for roughly a year. This place, I have a feeling is going to be the one for the remaining time in Pocatello. We love it. It has so many things that we have never had before. Like a dishwasher, which is the most wonderful thing ever. It also has gas forced heat, which we have never had the luxury of having. There is a nice storage area/laundry room that fits all of our extras, so that our 2nd bedroom isn't a storage room :) We are getting hand me down washer/dryer, that will be our very own. We've always been able to find something with a washer/dryer, so this time around having only hookups and having to get our own is kind of exciting. It feels more adult and real life. Which probably sounds weird. We also recently bought our first big piece of furniture together. We bought a nice bed frame for our bedroom. For the past two years, we were borrowing a bed from my parents, the one that I had in my room from the time I was about 10 (yes it was a queen size, don't worry). It worked well for us, but also happened to be a few feet off the ground, and we both wanted something a little closer to the ground, for our old bodies ;) It is funny that after knowing each other almost 7 years and being married for almost 2 years, we are still experiencing plenty of firsts together. Yet another reason why eternity still doesn't feel long enough sometimes.

Back to moving. We are about half and half in each house at this point. Which is okay, but hopefully we will be able to finish moving everything this weekend. It is true that moving brings your relationship closer together... and teaches you that you sure can disagree about a few things! We started looking for a place a little earlier this year, because I had been so antsy to move for MONTHS! We had two major requirements: it had to have a dishwasher, and it had to have laundry options. Isaac also really wanted gas heat (which turns out I have severely missed). I looked online for quite a few weeks before I found anything that really looked like something that might interest us. We decided to schedule a time to look at this one, and instantly we both loved it. The only thing that we immediately did not like, was the lack of a coat closet. Turns out, we will take dishwasher over a coat rack any day! We didn't want to immediately take the first thing we saw, just because we liked it, only to find something that we liked more later. On the other hand we also didn't want to pass it up and then be disappointed and not find anything that we like as much. It's not perfect, but it is as close to it as any place we have lived since getting married! It feels the most like home. The only downside to looking so early is that we had to pay double rent for one month so that we could secure it. Which has actually been totally doable. It looked daunting at first, but somehow it has been possible.

I look forward to all of the memories that we will have in this house together in the next two years.

The only constant

The only constant in life is change. It seems to always be changing when you least expect it. And sometimes when you need it to, in order to maintain some sort of sanity.
Lately, life has been a little bit less than enjoyable. Busy, stressful, and full of a lot of things that I was just hating. Once I made one major change, everything else has been a lot more enjoyable. I've decided to change my major, yet again. And for the first time in months, I feel like something is going the way that it should. I have loved the accounting program, up until this semester. Not only is it extremely hard, but I was not enjoying what I was learning. I was learning everything and doing what I had to get by. Not any extra. Just enough. After a lot of discussions with Isaac, we came to the conclusion that I needed a major change in life. I was stuck in the ruts, and felt like I was going no where.
We explored about a billion different options, trying to find out which one was going to be best for me, best for us. It ultimately came down to the fact that I didn't really see myself as an accountant in the future. I got to a certain point in the program, and just didn't feel it anymore. So, I am going to continue in school. Because heaven knows I didn't just waste the last four years of my life in college to not end up with a degree. I am going to get a bachelors degree of general studies. Essentially I am going to be taking a bunch of different classes. All upper division, so all hard. But, I will get to learn a lot of different things. There are so many different options, and I am honestly excited to have the option to learn about different things.
I am paying to go to school, I might as well enjoy it while I'm here. I have approximately a year left. 3 semesters, and then I will be done. I also have a whole boatload of elective classes, that have taught me so many things. I don't regret doing accounting, because it taught me a whole lot about everything. But, I'm ready to enjoy my education. I love learning, so much. But there comes a point, when I need to learn something that interests me.

On a different note, I love my husband. He has been so good this semester at helping me out. He is great at making sure we are always fed, and that I stay sane. He truly is my better half, and I'm glad that I don't have to do this life without him. I look forward to the day when I will hopefully be able to stay at home and take care of him and our family.

While driving in the car tonight, this next song came on the radio. Isaac's first words were, "Remember when you cried to this right before I left for college?" Yeah... Yeah. It just so happens, that change is the most terrifying thing for me, but it always leads to bigger and better things. Here's to the next year.

Everything falls together

And by fall together I mean are placed that way by a loving Heavenly Father. There have been many changes in our life lately. We were both a little stressed here and there wondering where we would be in life in a few months. Isaac was looking for a second job for the summer. We were looking for a new place to rent, with hopefully quieter neighbors. I was looking for a new job with a more consistent schedule, and with not so late of hours (secretly also hoping for better pay as well).
We almost bought half of a lawn mowing company for Isaac to have something to do during the summer. Then he almost worked for someone mowing lawns.
We toured so many houses and apartment complexes. Drove around looking for rent signs for days on end.
I applied for so many jobs. Spent hours and hours looking for one on every job website. Asked around to everyone I knew. Filled out a few applications, sent my resume in. And it seemed like nothing was happening in any direction.
After a few months there were still a lot of unknown variables. Also plenty of worrying, praying, and hoping that something great would happen for us, we started to see some great opportunities.
Thanks to our friend Cardon, Isaac was able to land an internship with the Idaho Department of Transportation. A paid internship with a guaranteed 40 hours a week. So it will be a busy summer for him. He will stay on at FedEx, with the around 20 hours a week. With a total of 60 hours a week.
We applied for an apartment with Five Star Property Management, our application got approved, however the apartment got rented that same day. We looked at a few of their other properties, but none of them seemed quite right. While driving around one day looking for signs, we found our new apartment! It is exactly what we had been looking for! Two bedrooms, laundry, bigger living room, better closets, more kitchen space, quieter neighbors, we get to stay in our ward, so many wonderful things. Needless to say, we are excited to move in a few weeks.
After continually looking around, I finally got an interview. And then a 2nd one at the same place. Now I work at Five Star Property Management. Had we rented an apartment from them, I wouldn't have been able to get a job there. It is going to work so much better during the school year, and I get 40 hours a week during the summer. Which is going to work out so well.
Between the two of us, we will be working 100 hours a week. Yay for earning money during the summer. Things happen for a reason. In the right timing. In the Lord's timing.

2013 Recap

This blog post is something I continuously worked on throughout the year. It was something I wanted to do, so that we could remember all of the things that happened this year. Often times at the end of each year, I try and think back to everything I have accomplished that year. Sometimes it is difficult, and I often only think of the negative things. Which is the other reason I wanted to do this. To remember all of the great things that happened to us in our first year of marriage. I hope to do this in the future years to come, but next time I promise to try and include more pictures :)

January:
-My best friend came home from his mission on the 10th.
-We started dating again on the 12th.
-We had our last first kiss again on the 16th.
-I turned 20 on the 31st, Isaac did a fake proposal (just to psych me out).

February:
-We went ring shopping on the 1st.
-My wedding dress was ordered and purchased on the 2nd.
-We scheduled the temple on the 5th.
-We got engaged on the 8th.
-Most of the wedding planning details, at least the big ones, were done this month.

March:
-I started birth control this month, and boy did it make me crazy.
-We took a trip to Utah with my family.
-After much thought, prayer, and conversation, I decided to change my major.
-We went and supported Cassie at some of her softball games.

April:
-On the 3rd, we toured our first place for the first time.
-I was offered a job at downeast on the 10th.
-We signed the lease for our first place together on the 12th.
-I officially changed my major to accounting on the 15th.
-My first day at Downeast was the 16th.
-I went through the temple on the 27th, and received my endowments.

May:
-We ended the semester, and took all of our finals the beginning of May (we both did well in classes!)
-We were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 10.
-We went on our honeymoon to Park City, and enjoyed a nice week of relaxing.
-My best friend, Hailey, left on her LDS mission on the 22nd, to Richmond, Virginia.
-We quickly learned just how great married life is. Being together is our favorite place to be.

June:
-After no other birth control working, we went with our last option, the dep-provera shot.
-We were introduced into the real world when we got our first real callings on the 9th. We were put in Cub Scouts together, more specifically the bears. I also was put into primary as a "buddy" for a little down syndrome sunbeam boy.
-On the 13th, Isaac found out he got a job at Fedex as a package handler. He had been searching all summer and finally got his second job!
-We realized just how early we needed to go to bed, just so that we could function, especially since Isaac now had to wake up at 4 am Tuesday-Saturday.
-We witnessed Isaac's youngest sister get married to her sweetheart on the 22nd. All of the Wood children have now been married off.

July:
-I had been sick most of June and into July. We started charting what I ate, and realized it was dairy that was making me sick. Almond milk became a regular part of my diet! :)
-We were able to spend the 4th of July up in Idaho Falls. We went boating with some of Isaac's family for a little bit that day, then had a barbecue at his parents house. We went to the Chukar's game with his parents and his sister Karlee's family. We went and watched fireworks with my family in our usual spot.
-On the 23rd of July, I was offered a shift lead position at Downeast, which I took. It pretty much means that I have to work a minimum of 20 hours a week, and just have more responsibilities than before.
-Towards the end of July, I couldn't really eat any food without getting sick. My health problems started linking with gallbladder symptoms. Which led to multiple doctor appointments, a hide-a-scan, and ultrasounds.

August:
-I had surgery on August 5, to have my gallbladder removed. My first surgery ever, and it went well.
-Isaac decided to start training for a half marathon in November, and boy was he excited.
-Right before school started up again, we were able to go with Isaac's family to a condo up Ogden canyon for a few days. It was filled with boating, a cousin's mission farewell, more boating, and cherry hill. Isaac got burned crazy bad, but it went away fairly quickly. We had a great time, and it was nice to have a tiny vacation from real life.
-One of our best friends, Breanna, left on her mission on the 21st, to Louisville, Kentucky.
-School started up again on the 26th. Isaac had 16 credits, and so did I.
-Isaac's last day at Domino's for awhile was on the 30th. Since his semester was going to be very challenging, we decided it best for him to only be working 1 job, with about 17-20 hours a week.
-Very quickly I discovered that I couldn't work 20-25 hours a week, take that many credits, and still find time to clean the house, so I cut my hours at work to 10-15. I had been very nervous about working during the semester, since I had never before worked while going to school.

September:
-We were able to make many trips home this month, which is always a great relief.
-My parents took us to the fair on Labor day, which was a blast. Fair food is definitely one of the best things.
-I switched up my birth control, yet again, to progesterone only pills this month. Still trying to find something that will work well with my body.
-Classes were very different for each of us. Isaac's were some of the harder classes he had taken, up to this point. Luckily, this month he found a wonderful statics tutor, who helped him understand all of the concepts.
-My classes were somewhat easy, in comparison to all of the college classes I had taken. I was thoroughly enjoying almost every single one of my classes. I discovered that I was finally in the right major, and was extremely excited about it.
-On September 28, Isaac rode in his first bike race. 50 miles. He loved it, and can't wait to do it again next year.
-I developed a sinus infection towards the end of this month. The same week I had 4 exams.
-Isaac also started thinking about changing his major towards the end of September. From mechanical to civil engineering.

October:
-We watched conference together the first weekend of this month. It was wonderful to just be able to spend some time together and not have to worry about anything else.
-This month was crazy with midterms, projects, tests, work, and everything else that seemed to happen.
-We were THRILLED to say the least when our infrared heater came in the mail. Now we don't have to freeze this winter!

November:
FLEW by!
-Isaac ran his first half marathon on the 2nd, with a time of 1:37:35. It was very close to the goal he had set.
-I got a 95% on my Accounting test, and was oh so excited about it!
-We hit our 6 month mark of being married!
-I went to Utah with my mom and sister for a couple of days to do our annual shopping trip.
-Our ward's primary program was on the 17th, and the cute kiddos did great.
-Isaac turned 22 on the 25th, and also went skiing for the first time of the season that day.
-For Thanksgiving we drove down to Provo to be with Isaac's mom's side of the family. It was great to see everyone.

December:
-We went to The Forgotten Carols on the 2nd, it was my first time going.
-We tried the advent calendar for the first time this year. We weren't super successful with it, but we had a lot of fun doing it.
-We celebrated our first Christmas together, and started a few traditions as a new family.
-We went to temple square and saw the lights on the Saturday after Christmas with my family.
-We rang in the new year together, and look forward to the year 2014 and all of the wonderful things that will come our way.

Accounting

On Monday, I officially changed my major to Accounting. Which means I will finish school sooner than before, and in a lot less debt. I've always had an obsession with numbers, and math is mostly great. So here goes this new adventure of life. I should graduate roughly in Spring of 2016 or 2017.

Isn't it beautiful?

Isn't life beautiful when everything starts to work out? Just when you are at your wits end, and you have so many things you are worrying about, everything always comes together. Maybe not the way you expected, or even wanted, but in the way that was the best for you.

A few weeks ago, I was stressed out beyond reason. I needed to find a job, Isaac and I need to find a place to live, I was overwhelmed with school, stressed about random wedding things, and I didn't know how in the world I was going to do it all, or if it would even work out.

But alas, it all has worked out so far. We have found a place to live, we sign the contract next Monday. I am going to move into there, and then Isaac will slowly move his stuff in and then we will both live there after we get married. It is so perfect for us. It has a washer/dryer. It is a half of a block off campus, and the size that we wanted. AND, it won't break the bank! :) It is unfurnished, and luckily we have all of the furniture that we will need. Between my parents, and others giving us many things. I can't wait to marry my sweetheart and move in together! It will be an adventure.

I have had several job interviews, and currently have been offered one job, possibly two. I will be able to work, and help out with the finances! WHOOP! :) I should have a job by the end of the week. Not a moment too soon.

School has been fine. I am making it through my last science class. Since I decided to change my major, I no longer have to take summer classes (bonus). I was also able to withdraw from Anatomy & Physiology. Which was a blessing in disguise. As it has freed up a bunch of my time, and made it easier for me to accomplish so many things. It has also decreased the stress in my life by about 100 million percent. Which in turn has made it easier for me to be able to have a little bit of time to do small things for the wedding.

It's amazing what happens when you have faith that everything will work. When you have someone by your side who helps you with everything. I am so grateful for Isaac, and for the amazing person that he is. He is selfless, and always so willing to help me with everything. I am also grateful for our families and for all of the things that they all do to help us out. Most of all, though, I am grateful for my Heavenly Father. He wants me to succeed more than anyone, and I know that he places things and people in my life to help me succeed to my best ability. That's why He has given me the opportunity to marry Isaac. To learn and grow in ways that I cannot do by myself. So that I can realize what is really important in this life, and to learn what I came here to do. But also, so that I can feel the encircling power that love is. Every day, I am more and more aware of what love is. A portion of it is caring so much about someone, that you will do anything for them. You will put their happiness above yours. Wanting them to be successful, and doing anything to help them get there. It is through the love that Isaac shows me, that I realize just how much my Heavenly Father loves me.

Decisions

Recently there have been a few things that have changed. Decisions are hard. As is life. Something that I've thought I wanted since I was about 15 years old, suddenly I just don't want anymore. The con's far out weigh the pro's. I'm trying to make up my mind and figure out something else for my life. It's almost like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. And pretty much like there is no stress anymore. Well, not any overwhelming stress that I can't handle that is. We'll see what the future brings with all of the decisions that are coming my way.
Easily enough though, I know that I will be able to handle this and make the right decisions for my future. Changing my major never sounded so good. I'm not positive what I'm going to be changing it to yet, but I have a few options that I am looking into. Pharmacy just doesn't really fit into what I want anymore. It will take a long time to get through, will be extremely expensive, and if I decide not to work when I am out of school, there will be no point in racking up that much debt. So I'm going to get a degree in something that will help me in raising my future children, and help out my future family. I am not positive yet, but I am meeting with an adviser tomorrow to figure it out.
We'll see what the future brings! Through lots of prayer and research, I'll be able to figure it all out. Change is sometimes scary, but it is going to worth it. Wish me luck.

Decisions

Wow. Who knew that growing up and being responsible required so many hard decisions and complicated things. Even the greatest things have some of the hardest decisions that come along with them. Something I always thought would just be easy. That once you decide one thing, everything else would just be decided. Turns out, that isn't true. More decisions come along with each decision that is placed before you.
I also never knew it would be a tiny bit easier when there is someone else there to help make the decisions. To lighten the load a little bit. To give different angles of options, and better ways to think about things. People were truly designed to be in twos. Men and women together, to help each other out.

On another (semi-related) note, I really am excited for the future and all that it holds.

Another completely related note, I love Isaac Demar Wood. He makes everything make sense. I am a little bit more calm, and a little less stressed when I have him around. That's what love does, it makes you a better person. At least, that's what it does to me.

Work in Progress

I have been thinking the past few days about what is going to be happening in the next year. And more specifically the next 8 months. I have decided to put a list together of things/areas where I want to improve and become better. Of skills that I want to improve on. There are so many things I want to accomplish before a certain someone comes home, and thinking about it, there isn't a lot of time. Hallelujah. But, I need to make a good use of my time, or it will slip right through my fingers. I can do this! :)

Things I want to improve:
Meal planning
Healthier eating
Learn how to grocery shop!
Time management
Sleeping time (get on a schedule&more often)

For now, that is what I'm going to start with. I want to be a better me, and now is my time to change! :)

Lately

I love this. Sometimes words just can't explain such things. You never know, until you give it a shot. Sometimes we don't have to understand what brings us together, we just have to see where that goes.

In a world

I am lost in a world full of people. Each person has their own expectations and desires for me. Each person feels something different about me. Some feel disappointment, some excitement, some pride, some love, some hate, and some simply don't know that I exist.
I am trying to figure out how to live for me. To do what I feel is best for me. To live by the desires of my heart, and to figure out exactly what it is that I want in this life. I need to quit living certain ways, and doing certain things to please other people. Or to not do things simply because someone else wouldn't like it.
I need to live righteously, but also the way that I feel is best for me. Just because someone else feels something is right for me, doesn't mean that it is. They may think they know all the circumstances, but they don't. They may think they know how I feel, but once again, they don't.
I'm not a perfect person. I have my flaws. But, no one is perfect, everyone has their flaws. They may be different, but they are always present. We are all trying to get along in this life, and make something of ourselves. And overtime, become perfect and more like Christ. My way of becoming more like Christ, may be different than your way of getting there. There is no right or wrong way. As long as I am striving my best to be all that I can be. And to always be my best self. That is what counts.

Silly people & Life's decisions

1. My name is spelled with an H. mariaH. Silly people at Einstein bros bagel place.
2. I did not want you to toast my bagel. When you asked, I said no. Yet you still toasted it. Silly silly.

Any other day the past week these things would've been reason for me to freak out and get upset for a brief second. BUT, it is a great day. Who knows what changed, but I woke up in a supreme mood today. Slept hardly at all last night, and yet I've been all smiles today. Optimism is a great thing. There is not a care in the world for me right now. There should be about a million things I should be worrying about, but I came to a conclusion. I need to be happy even when things are hard. Being upset and worrying about everything does nothing but make matters worse. My mom always tells me this, turns out, she's right!

Life is good. Life is beautiful. I am remembering this all over again. Those little moments of laughter and those little memories that you can't help but smile at. Walking outside and knowing that you live in a beautiful world that was created for you to enjoy.

Taylor Swift says it better in this song than I could even begin to try.

I don't know what I want, so don't ask me
Cause I'm still trying to figure it out
Don't know what's down this road, I'm just walking
Trying to see through the rain coming down
Even though I'm not the only one
Who feels the way I do

I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know

I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life goes on
I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in
This world

Got the radio on, my old blue jeans

And I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve
Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine
Could you tell me what more do I need
And tomorrow's just a mystery, oh yeah
But that's ok

I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know

I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life goes on
I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in
This world

Maybe I'm just a girl on a mission

But I'm ready to fly

I'm alone, on my own, and that's all I know

I'll be strong, I'll be wrong, oh but life goes on
I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in
This world

The main difference in her lyrics and how I feel is, I'm not alone. At all. I've got an incredible family and friends that are always there for me. And my biggest asset, my Heavenly Father. I may not know what my future holds, and my plans may not work out. But, that's because He is busy turning my life into what He wants it to be.

I feel exactly the same as in this post, there are only two absolutely certain things in my future. And they are both mysterious still. I have no idea what will happen with either of them, but right now I'm not meant to know. In time, I will come to know what my future holds. Right now, I just need to enjoy life.

Isaac DeMar and I: Part four.

Well. This is a continuation from the last three posts that have spanned over the past few months. And the finale of the series.
Isaac did one semester at ISU before he left on his mission. He came home almost every single weekend, to see me. It was a challenge, to have the semi-long distance relationship. But we made it through. We spent as much time together as was humanly possible. He got his mission call sometime in September 2010, and was called to serve in the Edmonton, Canada Mission, English speaking. He was to report to the MTC on January 5th, 2011. I remember being so excited for him, and yet so terrified at the same time. The future was so uncertain. I have always been a planner, and I like knowing what my future holds. So I was a little uneasy about everything. December came, he finished up his semester and came back home. He worked quite a bit those last few weeks, as did I. We spent so much time together. We were almost inseparable, except for sleeping and working.
We had been discussing what we were going to do about our relationship when he left, and had both decided that we needed to break up before he left. Originally, we were going to a month or so before he left, but neither one of us wanted to. On New Years Eve, after our fun evening, Isaac dropped me off and we decided that there was no better time than then. We were going to be 'just friends' until he left, five days later. I remember walking him back out to his car, coming in the house and just crying. I knew it was for the best, and now I am grateful for our decision.
We were still so much in love, but we had great reasons. He wanted me to be able to date and have a lot of fun while he was gone.  I wanted him to be able to focus on his mission. To be able to be the best missionary that he could be, and I didn't want to be a distraction. We were still going to write letters to each other, and keep each other in mind. We didn't know what the future held for either one of us, or if we were even meant to be together. We both gave our futures over to Heavenly Father, and decided that we would see what happened after two years time. We both went in knowing that anything could happen, and that two years was a long time. We decided and agreed that if I wasn't married or engaged when he got home, that we would give it another shot and see if it was meant to be. But we also agreed that if I was married or engaged that we weren't meant to be, and that Heavenly Father had others plans for each of us.
Tuesday, January 4th, came and as soon as I got out of school for the day, I went over to his house and spent time with him. We went out to eat with his family, and I was there when he said some of his goodbyes. We took our last picture together, held hands for the last time, had our last hug, had a kiss goodbye, and went to his setting apart. Then he became a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I've never been more proud in my life. We then shook hands, and said goodbye for two years.

Today is his 14 month mark. Which means 10 months left. The time has flown by and so much has happened.
I have yet to be married, engaged or otherwise, although I am dating and keeping an open mind about each prospect. He is still serving the people of Canada with his whole heart, and sharing this incredible gospel. I guess we'll see what the next ten months bring. Anything can happen in God's timing.

Lyrics

Taylor Swift lyrics are usually pretty darn great. I've been listening to a lot of her music lately. Keep in mind, that I like the lyrics, not her :)

Fifteen-
"I've found time can heal most anything. And you might just find who you're supposed to be. I didn't know who I was supposed to be at fifteen"(or even at eighteen).

Picture to burn-
Haha. I've always loved this song. There has been a time or two where this is applicable, however, not currently. And just barely discovered the music vid. Super great.

Tim McGraw-
I don't mind her voice in this one. It's mellowish.  But I do enjoy this song.

Ours-
I just love and adore this song.
"The juries out, my choice is you. So don't you worry your pretty little mind. People throw rocks at things that shine."

Sparks Fly-
I like this song better by Julia Sheer. But. It's a Taylor Swift original. "Give me something that will haunt me when you're not around." "Kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain." "I'm captivated by you baby, like a firework show."

Tied Together with a Smile-
"Hold on baby your losing it."

A place in this world-
Story of my life. "I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this world." "Tomorrow's just a mystery, but thats okay!" "Life goes on."
Breathe-
"None of us thought it was gonna end that way. People are people, and sometimes we change our minds." "I don't know what to be without you around. And we know it's never simple, never easy, never a clean break. No one here to save me. You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand. And I can't breathe without you, but I have to. Never wanted this, never want to see you hurt. Every little bump in the road I tried to swerve. People are people, and sometimes it doesn't work out. Nothing we say is going to save us from the fall out." "It's 2 Am feeling like I just lost a friend, hope you know this ain't easy for me."

Your Anything-
"I'd give everything to be your anything."

Enchanted-
"I was enchanted to meet you. This night is sparkling, don't you let it go. I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home.I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you" :)

Last Kiss-
I love this version, better than when Taylor sings it. I think they do a lovely job.
"I never thought we'd have a last kiss."

Today was a fairytale-
"Can you feel this magic in the air?"

Crazier-
"You lift my feet off the ground, and spin me around. You make me crazier, crazier. Feels like I'm falling and I,
I'm lost in your eyes. You make me crazier."

Change

Crazy how much can change in a short time. Sometimes the plans we have, aren't really what is meant for us. Heavenly Father prepares us for things before they happen. To make them easier to deal with, and to make us open to different options.

I do not know what is going to happen in my future, except that it will make me happy. I do not know who I will spend eternity with, except that he will make me happier than anyone else. Right now, I am enjoying dating. Not anyone in particular, or any more than one date. Last year, last month, or even last week I could've told you without a shadow of doubt who I was going to spend eternity with. Right now, all I can say is that some things happen for a reason.Sometimes we all need a little change in our lives to help us progress and become better. Some changes are unexpected and out of the blue, but embracing them seems like the best option.

Life. Why must you plague me with decisions?

Words cannot explain anything. So music will. Songs that I just love. A bunch of random songs, mostly. Some that don't even relate.

Sorry for the video overload :)

Confused.

Do you ever get the feeling that something just isn't right? Or have something bothering you, but you can't quite figure it out? That's how I feel today. I can't decipher what God wants me to know and do right now. Good thing for prayer. Although, I still don't know. Patience is a virtue that I do not have. Something that I am apparently being taught, without my own consent. Sometimes we all just want things right now. In our timing. But, we must rely on the Lord, and HIS timing.
The conference talk from October 2011 by Elder Hales entitled "Waiting upon the Lord: Thy Will Be Done" was the one I picked for for my visiting teaching message this month. Good thing I went last week, and have read this a few times in the past week. I've needed it today. I definitely recommend reading it.
Sometimes things don't happen the way we'd like, or the way we have planned on. We, me especially, need to have faith in God's plan for each of us. We need to rely less on what we want, and turn our lives over to Him. His plan will bring us greater happiness then our own plan will. Sometimes that is difficult to remember, but it'll all be worth it in the end.

Options. Choices. Decisions.

I'm at that stage in life, that I have to make lots of decisions. Like: What I want to do with the rest of my life, what classes I will take next semester, where I will live next year, who I will become, who I should spend time with/who I shouldn't, which guys are worth my time and which ones aren't, as well as those decisions like time management each and everyday. That last option, really is a big deal. I never thought so, until I came to college. I can't do it all, and I can't want it all. There are so many options, so many things that I could do. So many possibilities. Endless, actually.

Lately, all I want are the things that I can't have yet. Such as: graduated from college, married, having babies. Such is life. And, with time it will come. But still just always wanting what we can't have. And never wanting what we have. Something that I am trying to overcome, as of late.
