Girls Night

I love my best friends. Seriously. Last night my two bestest friends Hailey and Courtney came over, and we had a girls night. Just us girls. These have been some of the absolute best times lately. I love those girls.

We talked. Laughed. Joked around. Painted nails. Watched chick flicks. And just had a great time. John Tucker Must Die and The Last Song. Both fantastic choices. Talked about our boys, who are the best three ever. Just sayin. We're kinda partial. Talked about experiences and things in the past. Talked about great things our boys do. Talked about. Well. Our boys.

We've been friends for what seems like forever. I've known Hailey since 3rd grade. Crazy. We've been good friends since about 5th. We've certainly had our ups and downs and fights through the years, but we get along great! I'm so glad I've gotten to know her so well, and that she has been a huge part of my life. :) I've known Court since freshman year. We became good friends sophomore year, and even better friends junior year. She is my best friend. I love that girl. We've never really gotten into any fights. Except that one time ;) We are the kind of friends that can read each other like a book. Chances are, we know exactly what the other is thinking just from a look. Most the time, we are even thinking the same exact thing. I'm glad we've become the best of friends the past two years. I wouldn't change any of it for the world.

I'm so grateful for the kind of friends that have always been great examples for me. Who have helped me to stay on the straight-and-narrow. These girls are definitely two of the best examples I've ever had in my life. They are the life-changing people that are good to have in life. The kind of friends that everyone deserves to have.

I have so many memories with these girls. They are seriously the best ever! I don't know that I'm ready for college. Just because then I won't be around these girls all the time. They are going to the same school, and well, I'm not. I've always had at least one of them there for the past 8 years, and I don't know what I'm going to do without them. Luckily, they've decided to come on road trips to visit me :) As nervous as I am to not have them at college with me, I'm excited to hopefully meet more friends just like them!

Wednesday and Thursday activities

Wednesday, this past week, I was able to start volunteering at the hospital. It was great. I learned so much, and am so excited to continue to learn more. I am volunteering/shadowing in the pharmacy. The reason for this, is because I want to become a pharmacist. I wanted to get some experience this summer in a pharmacy, so that I can make sure thats really what I want to do. It was a super cool experience, and I met a lot of awesome people. I'm really excited to see what else is ahead of me in this experience.
Wednesday night I went to institute. The topic this summer is The gospel and the productive life. I am really excited for this as well. I will be learning a lot, and a lot of it will help me to be more successful in life and college :) I love learning things. Especially about this gospel.
Thursday morning, my best friend and I went to to temple again. We went early, 6:30 AM! :) It was so great. And, since we've been going every Thursday for a little while, the temple workers on Thursday mornings now know us as "the regulars". It sure feels great to have the temple workers know you. And to say, "See you next week!" They are the sweetest people, ever.

Dreams

I've got a lot of catching up to do. But we'll start with last nights dream. Fantastic. It was so vivid. Which is weird, because I never remember my dreams, EVER!
In my dream, Isaac had just gotten home from his mission. It was great to see him again. We were super close for a couple weeks, and then all of a sudden he didn't want anything to do with me. Or so it seemed. I remember driving in the car with my sister, she was driving us somewhere to meet our family. I was bawling and just super upset. Then we were doing something in this decorated field (weird, I know) and before I know it, there was Isaac. Proposing. Weird dream. Loved it, but weird. Wasn't expecting to dream about anything, let alone that. I woke up with a smile on my face, for sure :)

Temple Thursdays

Every Thursday, my best friend Courtney and I go to the temple and do baptisms. I absolutely love it. It is like the sunshine to my week, and definitely keeps me going. The temple really is the House of the Lord, and has his spirit there. I also love being able to spend time with my best friend. Since school got out, I don't get to see her everyday anymore. This gives us the chance to catch up with one another :) After we leave the temple, we go over to the Great Harvest store and get free slices of bread. Thursdays they always have our two favorite kinds, Cinnamon Burst (hers) and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip (mine). It makes for a great starter to the day with a great friend :)

These girls have helped me a lot throughout high school. Sammy and Hannah have been two of my best friends.

Oh all the memories with this girl. I love Hailey. Best friends.
This is my other sister. I love her. Elder Wood is her brother :)

This is Drake. He is a cool kid.

I LOVE these girls. Kayla and Emily have always been there for me.

Actually getting my diploma, after the ceremony.

And this. Is my very best friend. I love her to pieces. We have some of the best memories ever, and college won't be the same without her. But. Catching up will be happening a lot. I'm gonna miss this girl. But. We are going to be friends for ever. Those ones that talk every few months. Even after college. After we are married and after we both have children.

Long talks. Life changing people.

Lately I've been having a lot of long, meaningful conversations with some of the people that have impacted my life the most. The other night when I got home, I talked to my mom for a couple hours. Just about friends, my day, and random stories and things. I'm going to miss all of the conversations past midnight with my mom when I go to college. She is the most amazing woman I have ever met in my life. I love her so much, and am so grateful for her. She always has a story that relates to something I'm going through or some advice to help me along the way. My Heavenly Father knew I was going to need a strong anchor, so he gave me my mother.

One of the things that she said has stuck with me, "When you find a good one, stick with him." This was in reference to boys. We were talking about how there are two different types of guys in this world. The great ones, and the bad ones. And I've been thinking a lot about this lately. That when you find someone, that treats you right and respects you like the Daughter of God that you are, you need to keep them in your life.

And I've found that guy. He is on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is serving in the Edmonton Canada Mission. He has been gone for almost 5 months. In this time, I've learned just how amazing he is. I've also learned so much about myself that I wouldn't've ever known without this experience. I've learned that I will not settle for anything less than what I deserve. A young man who loves the Lord, and would do anything He asked. To me, this means that he is willing to serve the Lord and go on a mission. It is the hardest, best two years of their young lives. And I know they are called of God.

I love Elder Isaac Wood. My best friend Courtney gave me this quote that says, "Distance is to love, as wind is to fire. It extinguishes the small, and enkindles the great." I love this quote and believe its true. Currently, our love is trying to withstand being apart for two years. But, if it is meant to be, it will be greater than it was before. Its the hardest thing I've ever been through. As cheesy as that sounds. But its also been the biggest time of growth for me. I'm loving it.

At conference April 2010.
The three amigos.
Last night, I hung out with my friend Titus. Him, Isaac, and I spent all last summer together. We were the three amigos. Titus leaves on July 6th for his mission in Argentina. Thats crazy. Everytime I hang out with him, we always have the deepest conversations. I always think a lot about life and the past and future. I'm going to miss him when he leaves. But he will also make a great missionary :)
